The Lords discuss licensing committees

After several years of working with the new licensing act first introduced in 2003, the House of Lords are now discussing how licensing committees actually work at local authority level.

AFO has consulted with advisors at Westminster who tell us “Planning and Licensing was discussed by a Lords Select Committee and put into a report.  It is not a government proposal, however, government would normally respond in due course to the report, outlining if it is in agreement or not with the recommendations.”

This procedure would normally take two to three months and any legislation if proposed would be some distance off.  Watch this space for more details.
